The East Point Business and Industrial Development Authority was created by an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Georgia of 1945 by an Act adopted during the 1975 Session of the General Assembly and ratified in the 1976 general election. Its purpose is to develop and promote trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities for the local community.
The EPBIDA has broad powers to accomplish its purpose. The most frequently used power of development authorities is the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable industrial development bonds.
We attract and support business investment that creates jobs, strengthens commercial districts, and expands the tax base—while advancing strategic housing, workforce programs, and land development that position East Point for long-term growth.

We support the growth of existing businesses, attract new investment in targeted sectors, and promote vibrant commercial districts that create jobs and expand the tax base. To support long-term economic vitality, we also advance strategic residential development, workforce housing initiatives, and land acquisition for future community and economic growth.
Mr. Dunson’s leadership philosophy centers on empowering teams, fostering collaboration, and advancing initiatives that create measurable impact.
